The room is filled with accumulated paper. Crumpled A4s marked by dirty floors, and the previous touch of hands. A big blanket of papers, carefully sewn together with varying stitches, suspended from the ceiling. On the walls, rows of papers are also stitched together, marked with charcoal, threads, words and small notes written along old creases.
In studio 45 in Hamburg, the piece ‘fictions, stitched’ was remade as an exhibition. Every day for three hours, the exhibition space was activated by a durational performance. We performed together and individually, entering and leaving the exhibition space, executing different tasks that explored the intersections between dance, text and paper. It became a continuously developing weave of interactions, where the sound of paper and voices were accompanied by dancing bodies and a continuous adding and rearranging of the exhibited materials.
